about

Instrumentation: extensive synthesizer ensemble, including percussion. Begun as an assignment from Kurt Grossman and later entered in the 11995-96 PTA Reflections Contest (5th grade), "Bicycle Race" was my first large scale composition, and the most structured one until then. I took several of my favorite original themes and created a piece in which each section effectively leads into the next. The title arose because the music seemed to depict the experience oa grueling race. Listen closely and you will hear some heavy competition, an uphill struggle, an easy ride back down, and the race ending with our hero in second place.
